Each time I try to log in "Forever" or go to the login screen and click "always stay logged in" when I close my browser window (or tab) and comeback, I always have to re-enter my login information. Any reason this is like this?

I'm having no problems... do you have cookies allowed? Or maybe there's a cookie from the old forum system, delete it and try again.
-
Yes, I believe Jerrot also mentioned some cookie problems after the forum upgrade. As McCoy suggests, try deleting the cookie, it might help.
-
What's weird is that i had two cookies... one that tells me to stay logged in, and another that ends at the end of the session. The funny thing is, that I had deleted my cookies recently... So neither should have been in there... odd

And does it work now? And how about that go-back problem you've mentioned earlier, did the new forum software help?

i explicitly allowed my browser to use cookies for this site now. now i'm NOT auto-logged in anymore, eek! but i still think it can be my browser...

actually i'm still having cookie problems... in any case, as far as going back in forums, that problem is corrected, thanks! :-)

Strange! Since I ALLOWED my IE to use Cookies, even from third party sites, it doesn't auto-login anymore at all. Deleted cookied, blah, blah... :P (Actually I'm not really new to that topic, but anyway...)
Kicked IE, started Mozillla, everything is fine now. 8)

I have the same problems with IE
-
Interesting considering my problems are in firefox. I haven't really used IE much for a few weeks.

Strange. I'm using the default settings (just "accept cookies" checked and the other checkboxes not). Worked immediately. Hm... no idea anymore. I guess I can be sure you did NOT block the dead-code site explicitly though. :) On the other hand I can't explain I've got the problem with IE, all settings are fine.
It's all the fault of Windows! ;)

Okay I just tried it in Internet Explorer, the cookie doesn't take here either.
Need to figure out what's going on.

For mozilla users.
Tools -> Cookie Manager -> Allow cookies from this Site
This seems to fix the problem for me.
-
Same here, must log in every time i visit the forum.
Im using Mozilla Firefox (this site is allowed to have cookies in my options). Im visiting lots of other boards and dont have a problem there.
Its not that bad though, two clicks more ;)

@ gfx johnny
Try to do what I did with mozilla and then go to the cookie manager and delete the stored cookie for wme forums.
-
Didnt help, i tried that before.
-
I've been tampering with the forum settings a bit, please see if it helps your login problems.
-
It didnt help, i'm sorry to have caused inconvenience :/
Nevertheless, i was able to find the source of the problem... there are two links to the forum. The first time i visited the wintermute website, i used the url "www.dead-code.org/forum", which redirected me to the forum, to "forum.dead-code.org". I added the link to my favourites, and so, using my browser favourite link, he uses the redirection... which seems to trail off the cookie information. I must use "forum.dead-code.org" and everything is fine :) Perhaps you should change the link on the website, it would avoid this problem i guess.
Even so, thank you :)
