3d characters limits?
« on: March 23, 2005, 06:18:30 PM »

Hi

what is the maximum number of vertices and faces of the 3d model which WME engine can load?

I really need to know, because I want to make the characters in POSER and it generates characters with high number of vertices/faces so I may decrease the number of faces to the allowed range that the engine can preview

BTW,do u know where I can find a free site with good collection of free 3d characters with animations and with low number of polygons?

thanks

Forget about the Poser-models, they are WAY to high-poly for being displayed in realtime. and I doubt that you can decrease the amount enough so that the meshes still look good.

I don't know if there is any limit from WMEs side, actual models for other engines that I have seen so far range somewhere between 1000 and 5000 polys ... I wouldn't suggest to use more.
