Title: trueSpace 7.6 now FREE for all
Post by: TheDerman on July 24, 2008, 10:56:46 AM
Hey Muties,

Had a nice little surprise in my emails this morning. 3D modelling and animation software trueSpace 7.6 has now been released for FREE, which I guess, is AWESOME!!!   ;D  ::rock

In case you don't know, trueSpace is a great piece of software for 3D modelling and animation - it's feature packed, and can be used to create real professional quality work.

Also, it's very easy to use, so if you're a 3D novice or beginner like I was, trueSpace will be a great piece of software to learn on.

Also released for FREE are all the video courses. Obviously these are basically video tutorials, showing you how to use trueSpace's features to achieve certain things, and again these are invaluable for the beginner.

So, if the price is right.......what are you waiting for???

This is the post from the trueSpace captain, Roman:

And here is where you can get it:

Enjoy.

this is good news. Truespace is a nice app... i would definatly use this over blender if i was going for a free solution. Though it has little or no plugin support so you will need to find a way to export if you wish to translate the animations into wme for 3D actors. If anyone knows please post in this thread.

I just downloaded it. It's awesome!
It has native .X file format export!
If anyone tested it, please let me know how it works with WME.
I do like Blender for modeling, but the animation resources of TS7.6 are way better.

Great news!!!!
Way more feature rich than Blender and now we have 2 free solutions we can combine them to make the ultimate solution.

Again .X hasn't been verfied yet.

Truespace? Tried it, had some crashes, terrible UI, nice looking but very unproductive. And then they use two versions in one. Maybe in a few years. I then tried Blender again, wonderfull, fast, strange UI at first, but very very fast if you get the hang of it. Imported two very big files which even crashed xsi, ok it also crashed Blender, uses to much swapping space. Then exported from Rhino to dxf, and imported in Blender, wow, even the layer names remained intact. It took a while, but no crash and 10/10 result. It's a big architectural modell, and working with Blender is very very nice. Just download thise videotuts for getting started and on you go and safely. Have a look at Big Buck Bunny (http://peach.blender.org/)

Truespace is really strange. I did not find a way to save or load a scene ...
