Move registry entries to .INI File
« on: January 20, 2009, 10:26:18 AM »

Hi!

Would it be possible to use an INI File for WME Settings instead of the Registry? It would make it easier to put the devtools on an usb stick / drive.

Greets,

See this thread. Basically, wme tools don't store any vital info in registry besides the path to wme.exe (and it will ask if the path isn't set). But ProjectMan relies heavily on file associations and that's not something you can put to an INI file.

As for the engine itself, it can read settings from INI file (and it does so primarily if such ini exists), but it always stores settings in registry.
