LucasArts has decided to stop production on Sam & Max
"After careful evaluation of current market place realities and underlying economic considerations, we've decided that this was not the appropriate time to launch a graphic adventure on the PC" says Mike Nelson, Acting General Manager and VP of Finance and Operations. There is currently no plan to reduce staff.

"evaluation of current market place realities"??? WTF are they saying?!?! If they don't release an adventure game, then there's no market at all!! And I'm quite sure that only with the old Sam & Max fans will be enough to get enough money to surpass (is that the word?) the game investment, and moreover, the old game will be more known, and it's a still playable game nowadays, they can even recode it a bit for actual systems, and release it along with the new game for free, or give it free to download at the official game page... It has already been done with good results.
And I think that, by the look the new Sam & Max game had, it was a good try to resurrect and revitalise the graphic adventure genre. I don't know what they're thinking about, really. I think they don't even have good reasons, by looking at the too-short press release.
F***ING MONEY!

My words, exactly. Nothing to add >:( :-X

>:( :'( When the god-adventure-company decides to kill an adventure project then it's a sad day. :'(
It's getting more clear day-by-day that the adventure-genre is waiting for us, amateur adventure makers & lovers, to create new companies and just stop caring about the decisions of the old ones.
In greece, software piracy is at very high levels and I am one of the few that are still buying the games they play. I respect them, why the don't respect me? >:(

Many people don't like petitions but if you are interested check those.

I had a feeling that game would pause "literally"
I share the same feelings you outbursted publicly...
