Export Problems
« on: May 31, 2008, 01:43:44 PM »

Hey,

Once again, i'm getting a strange behaviour with .X files and WME.
this time, i've decided to create a simple chracter just to test out exporting.

this model has a UV Map modifier that stretches it's face's texture on it's face, and only the front part.
when exported, it looks great in the DirectX mview.exe and DXViewer.exe
but in WME, the textures are spread wrong over the model. (note that the wme actor file needs to have DRAW_BACKFACE=FALSE )

I also tried going through fragmotion, open it up, and resave it but it messes it up even more.
I've put the .Max file with the .X files i've exported with Max 8 and panda here:
http://corbomitegames.com/export_problem.zip

Would appreciate your help.

Oh it's very simple! Model must not contain any modifiers except skin(or physique). So just right click it and cover to editable mesh or editable poly!

I converted to editable mesh, now the modifier isn't there, i exported , it looks ok in the mview but bad in wme.

I just tested it. It looks ok in WME. Are You sure that he's in one piece (one mesh)? What export parameters are You using? (look here http://wiki.dead-code.org/wakka.php?wakka=ExportingWithPanda&v=1bio ) What do You mean by "bad in wme"? And what is mview?

He is made up of two polygons wrapped around each other.
his body should be completely black.
his head should be have a smiley face in the front and all white in the back and a round black circle around him.

what i see if that the smily face texture is wrapped all around his body as well.
