Unfortunately, I haven't found anything suitable so far. If anyone knows about good theora editor, let us now. We did all the videos as avi and then converted with ffmpeg2theora.

For linux there are Kdenlive and Cinelerra. Both natively support ogg theora. For windows any video editor that supports directshow filters will be able to export to ogg theora.

As a word of warning, we've done tons of theoras for J.U.L.I.A., and ffmpeg2theora was the only reliable way. All other routes we tried brought a lot of unwanted artefacts / problems. Might have been just us though. :)

The issue I have had is when I created a vidoe via mpeg/avi and put it into Theora - usually works well, the problem has when you decide to revise the video and have lost/deleted the original.
I have used a utility called All to avi to bring the stuff back into virtual dub or Sony video editors.

It's usually ok - with no significant loss.
