I have emailed Mnemonic but having no email back, I'll post it here. WME crashes after creating or opening a project. Two crashes, one for WME and sometimes one for MFC42.DLL
I have updated MFC, fooled aroung with DXDiag, installed the newest driver for my video card I could find (it's an old 4mb) and WME still doesn't work.
Thanks!

Oh... And one more thing...
I was wondering why I am a llama, because it says by me "I am a llama".
-
you can change the I am a Llama by going into "Profile" at the top of the board.
Hey, Mnemonic, i've had the same problem too. I once opened the demo project, checked it out, and closed it and today when i open it, i get an error. Reinstalled it, same thing, works first time but then i get the error.
-
You are lucky, mine won't even open the first time.
When I create a new project I hear my old computer making some whirring noises, and then I get some
Illeagal Operations. I don't know what the problem is.
-Anonymous Person, a.k.a. Glad to be not a llama

That's weird ??? From the WME log you've send me, the engine crashes while it is detecting the 3D devices; that's why I thought it might be a driver problem. Could you please save the configuration log in the dxdiag utility and send it to me so that I can see what exactly is your hardware config?
One more question: are you able to run the standalone WME demo game (there is an icon in the WME's Start menu folder)?
P.S. Sorry for the llama thing, it seems to be a YaBB SE default setting :)

Where is this log located?
-
I emailed it to mnemonic@centrum.cz

When I tried it -- No. I need to reinstall WinterMute, I uninstalled it for some space temporaraly and now windows says I have 20.7 KB free space, so I must free some space before I install wintermute again. which Is what I'll do now.
-
Oh, and my last post was about running the WME Game.
-
Thank you for the log. Well, I must admin I'm clueless at the moment :-( Everything seems to be OK. And since I'm unable to replicate the error, I'll have to dig into the hardware detection routine to find out what might be wrong...
-
OK. I'm happy that you can download the program only, because even though it was 20.7 kb free yesterday, without me deleting one file, it's 41 gb free today.

Oh, and I meant 41 mb, not gb
-
Hehehe now THAT would be a big tutorial.
"Engine....10 mb.....Tutorial 41 GB."..... hehehe.
-
He jeroen !
dat zijn toch geen leuke grapjes !
Maar 41gb aan uitleg zou leuk zijn , vooral voor de download !

No problem. Just don't expect me to join the discussion ;)

How come nobody is trying to fix my problem, I would like a working game engine.

That's not true. I'm constantly working on improving the engine. Currently I'm doing extensive changes to the rendering subsystem (TGA/alpha channel support, texture caching, support for older videocards) so hopefully the next engine build will be more tolerant to different hardware configurations, including yours. Sorry if it takes longer than you've expected but I can only work on WME at the weekends :(
-
I bought a new video card & hard drive and hopefully wintermute will work now.
-
It works now.

Excellent! Thank you, that's a great news. I started to think that I'm stupid ;)
