How to change the talking style?
« on: May 04, 2003, 08:44:27 PM »

I don't like the text-floating-over-the-head talking style, and i'm thinking about making a sierra style talk globe or something like that, you know, like the comics. There's any way to customize the talking routine?

Sorry for my bad english, i'm spanish.  :P

Well, other talk styles are not directly supported, but it could be done (with a little bit of scripting), using the GUI window... But since I got multiple requests for this feature recently, I'll probably make it easier in some future release of WME.

The easiest thing to put the text in some other place than the actor's head would be to create an "empty actor" (the whole image should be transperent) and make that actor talk, after placing him in the right place.

To create a sierra talk-style (with animated actor images) I think it would require a lot of scripting using the windows as mnemonic suggested. The animation inside the box could be created with entities.
