Have a problem...
« on: May 11, 2003, 01:27:27 PM »

I just downloaded the WME DevKit and installed it. But now, when i try to start the program, it says that the file D3D8.DLL can't be found. What's this? I really don't know what to do... Or maybe i'm just a bit too stupid to use this program  ;)

You need to have at least DirectX 8.0a installed in order to use Wintermute engine.

If you don't find DirectX 8.0a or later on some game CD, you will always find the current version (that's 9.0a currently) for download here:

And the link to DirectX 8.0a is: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/release.asp?ReleaseID=27741
(in case you are using Win95 or you don't want to install DX9 yet)

Thank you!

I just reinstalled win98 last month. Haven't needed DX yet but my computer is so old I'm scared to update anything. 8 works fine...
