Title: No more Fallout 3
Post by: Mnemonic on December 09, 2003, 10:30:24 AM
"Van Buren/Fallout3 has been "shelved," as the geniuses at IPLY have put it. Console only is the word of the day now. Even though Van Buren was half-way finished, the 'tards in charge have decided they want to do Exalted console and FOBOS 2. The simple fact they are making FOBOS2 even when FOBOS when hasn't shipped and is hated by the Fallout community says a lot about their intelligence. Not to mention Van Buren would be the only game they could possibly ship by X-mas next year. "

Now if you'll excuse, I'm gonna go scream or cry, not decided yet >:(

They'll be back. Some other company will pick them up and then they can release Fallout once more. That'll show interplay :D

Who own's the copyrights to fallout? If Interplay owns them then I don't think that a new fallout will be created/published for at least a few years.  :(

Actually there were rumors some german(?) company is considering buying the Fallout licence and even hire some ex-BIS emplyees. But personally I'm not very optimistic about that.

The company is Silver Style ( www.silver-style.de ), and from what I've read in their forum, both the company and parts of the original development team are highly motivated to do it - seems like it only depends of Interplay decision on selling the license to silver style.

So there might be still some hope for the Fallout-Junkies :-)

Yes, I've read a rumor the ex-BIS guys would like to buy out the work-in-progress Fallout 3 from Interplay. But I don't think IPLY is going to do that. They need the Fallout trademark to make those stooopid console games >:(

Hm, I read that their financial situation is all but good ... perhaps they MUST sell the License, even if it's "only" for the PC-market.

(a little bit more optimism, please  ;) )
