Which looks like just opening/closing the folders.

Sorry, I'm not very experienced in these programs. I use McAffe and Ad-watch products.  And windows firewall. Where  can I find their logs?
Thanx!

Thanks all for your suggestions!
However, nothing seem to solve this.  :(

In dxdiag I've got this: The file rdwm1046.sys is not digitally signed, which means that it has not been tested by Microsoft's Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL).  You may be able to get a WHQL logo'd driver from the hardware manufacturer.

That's the only problem in directX, but may it be the reason?

And actually, odnorf, I remember installing Audio Editor Gold. Maybe it brought with it some new drivers.  ???

Not sure what to do...  :'( Any ideas?

Do you think disabling the firewall might solve the problem? Or any other suggestions?  ???

do you remember if you have updated any drivers

No, don't think so.

do you have a software firewall

Yes, I do, but I had it all the time... And WME was working all right. Moreover, what is really strange, that I have this problem only with the newly compiled games, whereas the old ones work OK.  :(

And there is a slight problem  ::) The game is in Russian. Is it OK?

Do you mean, an example of the problematic one? Do you need it compiled?

Yet, it's very strange, because the game that I compiled one week ago still starts quickly. I updated DirectX, but it didn't make any difference. I think that WME queryes for some hardware which it didn't ask before...  :( The Project Joe demo also works well. Thus, my system seems to be all right. But the problem still exists.  :-\

Help!  :'(

I think, I'll ask it in here. My actor walks with a variabe speed (sometimes faster, sometimes slower). Is it normal? May it be just because of loading sprites, or something else?

Thank you!  :)

You are right! Just found this line in logs:

"Fatal: error querying available hardware. Exiting."

What is your suggestion on overcoming this problem?

Thanx!

I'll answer in order you asked:

-yes I had a Windows Update, but I think the problem started before that.  :(
-I have an anti-virus running, but it was always there with no problems before.
-Yes, the compiled game is slow too. It's not the game itself, but the settings window. Once it appears, everything else is OK.
-there's no difference if I enable/disable 3D acceleration.
-No I didn't, I might try.
-WME version - 1.52, Windows version - XP Home edition SP2, video card - ATI MOBILITY RADEON X600 SE
-other games run ok. I'll have a look at dxdiag as well.

To odnorf: No other 3d application running.

My point is, that it worked perfectly, on the same configuration, but the day before yesterday Istarted to have this problem, although I don't remember changing anything in OS nor system.

Thank you, for your reply.  :)
