For me the most important thing besides being able to skip the intro was that when you started playing the game that the intro doesn't come up every time you start the game.

Yes, that's a good point. I hate that too :)

So either check if the intro has already been played once or if a savegame exists.
For those who want to watch the intro again they can choose so from a menu.

Yes, I think thats the way it will be, on first launch of the game it starts automatically, and from then it's accessible via menu.

But I'm sure no one will ever want to see it again if I can't find a way to transform plastic into water  ;D

I'm currently playing "The Westerner" (well, about 10 minutes every day... ugh) and it took me ages to find out, that you can abort cutscenes and dialogues with the "End" key. It was REALLY necessary. :))
The END-Key??? Ok .... hm ... let me see ... I think, I will use a CTRL-Page-down-F7 combination for skipping - which you have to confirm by clocking on an invisible OK-Button that appears somewhere on the Screen :)

Yeah. It's not THAT much harder to find then. ;)
I only found it by google, I didn't even find it in the printed manual. (Although... In Igorrr's demo thread I just proved how much I read READMEs and so on... *hem*... !)

"Readme-reader" should be added to the Schattenparker-list

As for the water, Tol recommends this tutorial: http://www.selleri.org/Blender/tuts/Water.pdf

Yes, I've seen this tutorial a while ago, it's fine for still renderings, but I need a roaring ocean :)

But I will try to combine this approach with my existing ocean ... I think the problem with mine is the bad texturing. Maybe I will upload a small video when I'm satisfied with it :)

I'm late in answering, I know... :)

Yes, it is - and as far as I understood will remain - freeware. So far I have planned that I will only use it for a few scenes with animated characters in the cut-scenes, and use a Blender-rendered image as background there. I hope it will look ok.

Uh, cool... I'll have to take a deeper look into. Although I really love MakeHuman. ;) I didn't check the latest updates and 3rd party stuff for a while, but wasn't there some walking tool in progress ?

Well, you are old, so you are excused  ;D

Don't know about a walking tool, the last thing I read was that they are going to implement FACS (?), a system for realistic facial expressions. But a walking tool would be very cool indeed ... MakeHuman is really a cool application. The only thing I would like to see is a broader range of different models. But I think I expect too much of a free script  ;)

EDIT:
PS: Any new progress about the plastic effect ? Can't imagine it... too less transparency, too much reflection or unchecked "Raytrace" button ? (Haha, yeah, just kick me... ;) )

Well, you can imagine it by watching "Augsburger Puppenkiste" - only their water looks much more realistic than mine  ;D
But I haven't done anything on it since my last post - no time  :(
I think it isn't that hard to solve the problems. I'm almost satisfied with the wave-movements, only the texture needs to be redone.

Ok, since Tol is unable to post here because of lousy connection, he asked me to post this link: http://www.cogfilms.com/
There is an animated sea tutorial in the "Tutorials" section.

Yes, that's the tutorial I used for my ocean :-)

I must admit that I have totally forgotten this Thread, the water is finished - I will render a short movie of it and put it on my webside this week. It's not exactly how I wanted it, but ok.

Yes, for sure! It's a very good tutorial for the use of the IPO curves, too, something I still was looking for. Thanks to Tol.
