Title: Tail End Charlie" Adventure Game
Post by: thefuzz on July 29, 2009, 02:32:58 AM
Hey everyone,

I just finished making my first full game. It is called "Tail End Charlie". The player is psychically drawn into the last moments in the life of a WWII bomber pilot veteran. He asks you to help him collect the memories of his beloved bomber crew, in the form of object reminders that you must obtain for him. It is kind of inspired by the Carol Reed game series (East Side Story, etc.). It is photo based and first person.

I really enjoyed making it, though it was limitless trial and error along the way. Thanks, and it lacks any professional polish (I have no programming or design experience). But the puzzles are many, varied, and quite tricky at times.

    The download includes a walkthrough.

My compliments to the WME developer.......Mr. Mnemonic!

Cool.. I like this a lot... sounds are great and the real-photo look works.. as do the sorta "stop-motion" movements on some of the live actors. All in all cool!! Still took me about 2 seconds to get totally lost.. what this game really lacks is feedback form the cursor... clicking on stuff seams to do nothing... "look at" descriptions would really aid the exploring feel to this game.

It's an interesting concept, but just like Jyujinkai I got hopelessly lost in the hallways. The Carol Reed games can at least display hints on scene exits. You might consider providing this feature as well. Also as I player, I could use some hints on what am I supposed to do.

Well, I gone furthur (see what I've found)

1) Right after we enter main lobby, forward once and go back to door we entered (however, dont use the door) instead click left
We find a note explaining how to get apartment key by allowing user to perform

It tells we can find a device on wicket chair
If we take closer look at item (1) on note, this seems to provide some braid number

2) find where 2nd hand freezed on clock
3) number of red apples

multiply 1 x 2 x 3
end of note

When entering lounge, go forward, turn back near where we entered and turn right (find this device on one of chair)

To speed up this post:
So far I know the followings:

- item (1) on note seems to represent 103
- item (2) on note is 4 or 20 (by looking at clock we can tell)
- item (3) on note is 2 according amount of red apples in some bowl find in this room

But how use device from stool is where I'm stuck.

we also find a mallet on fireplace.

I hope someone else can provide feedback?
I agree this game need lots of improvement
