High Poly Count in GUI Interfaces
« on: January 12, 2010, 11:57:40 AM »

Hi, I have another small question

I have a scene which contains a little fake operating system (only a few GUI interfaces) and I’m asking me why the Poly Counter shows me 24.000 Poly´s? When I open another window there are over 200.000 Poly´s and the framerate goes down (from 160 to 18), and its all 2D. Does it depend on the tiled images?

Yes. Each tile of the resulting tiled image is 2 polygons. So if you use huge windows with tiny tiles, it will be a lot polygons in total. Use larger tiles of use one big image instead, if you don't need to resize the window.
