updating dev kit - uninstall?

Hey guys!

I have 186 installed, and just downloaded 1810.

What is the process?  Do I uninstall 186 from add remove programs, or from the start menu uninstall, and THEN install 1810?  Or do I simply run the 1810 installer?

I simply ran the installer and it went in perfectly--in fact, I'm able to continue the game am building using it without any problem.  But maybe see if Mnemonic or anyone else has anything different to say.  I just got the usual popup message--do you want to accept this new program and everything was fine--it went in right over the old one.

One of my betatesters did an uninstall before running the installer and they had problems so I don't think that's the way to go.

This is what they reported:

"My wintermute has given up
When I try to run the update it says “the setup files are corrupted, please obtain a new copy of the program’” I did an uninstall of the program and tried again but the same result. So now I don’t have the engine."

But, overall - you'd suggest installing on top?  Not uninstalling?

It doesn't matter. You can safely install over the original installation.

"All is ok now
I believe the update points to a corrupt version of the installer
The one I did download has the same name as the one the other links point to
Actually windows starts at “downloading 15.7 Mb “ but stops at 247Kb
 
If you have contact with the developers pass this note to them"

There is only one file, so I believe the problem lies elsewhere.
