Finding graphic artists
« on: August 01, 2007, 01:37:53 PM »

As a lot of people here are opening threads for finding graphic artists - with mostly no success, because the few that are here are already bound to their own projects - I thought it might be a good idea to collect links for graphic communities, model collections, single artists etc, where one has better chances to find an artist for his/her project.

So here are some:

http://www.cgsociety.org/ Afaik the biggest community for professional 3d artists
http://www.raph.com/3dartists/
http://blenderartists.org/forum/ Dedicated to Blender entirely
http://www.zbrushcentral.com/zbc/index.php The name says it
http://www.cg-creatives.de/ German/English community for CG artists

That's just a start, if you know more links, please add.

And good luck finding an artist ;-)

Of course, the thread is meant for all kinds of artists, not only static 3d :-) Animatiors, 2d, 3d, musicians, Sound/FX, writers ... whatever comes to your mind :-)

Not exactly an artist for hire, but this website offers some stock cartoon cliparts and character designs for reasonable prices. Maybe someone will find it useful: http://www.bradfitzpatrick.com

Hi!
I'm a graphic artist (2D and 3D), and I've always wanted to work on a quality/ambitious adventure game project (whether quality is in the graphics or story). As long as the project's idea is good, the story has depth, and the puzzles are not too shallow.

The thing is, I also wanna particpate in shaping the overall graphical theme, and if the story is a lil bit vague, I can also help shape that as well. If anyone is interested, email me and we'll talk about the details.. I can also send samples of my art work just to see if the artwork suit the mood of ur game!!

Note: My artwork is a lil bit serious, so maybe it suits the mood of darker games, although i'm willing to work on comic style games as well..

I've done some 2d and 3d commissioned art work in the past. though now  mostly for my own entertainment and enjoyment.
however I thought I'd add a useful link for artist hunters.
www.renderosity.com

here is my own gallery there:

or

http://www.renderosity.com/homepage.php?page=3&userid=21120

another great artist site is deviantart.com (but that site goes without saying.

anyways, I hope you find this post helpful.
