Looks interesting, but i don't see a reason to change from Wings3d :)  Bones are a nice addition though.

Redqueen Rendering Tool - interesting. I have a version on my harddisk which was available for free download some time ago. Sadly it don't have a gui, you have to render your scene using a text parser  :o  ;) Complicated, but really good features and quality.

Yeah! The channel is regularly populated by Jerrot, nihil and me every working day from 8:00 to 17:00 CET, with everydays confusing visits by odnorf  Everyone else is very much welcome as well!
It must be fate or something like that, every time i join the channel, several things happen... first of all Jerrot had to leave ;D, then there is an everlasting moment of silence (pun intended :D), and Nihil will be never there - better luck next time ;)

Bad idea. The majority of adventure gamers will hate it imho. And it is not realistic, because in reality, i could take something with me just for fun, if it is my wish. In your game i would need a justification for every item i want to pick up - a big no-no if you ask me.

Our cat doesn't qualify for creating cute avatar pictures  ;D

Some years ago we found two young cats in the woods, and they stayed some days at our house. They were really cute, and so affectionate. They even slept on my keyboard even if i was typing something :D  They didn't get along with our old cat, sadly (she wants to be the only cat in the house ;) ), so we had to give them away.  :'(

Impressive!  :o

Background graphics will be shadowed in real-time so that character shadows and objects can be animated. All of the game characters will be rendered and textured in 3D and then transferred into a backdrop.
I'm not sure if i understand this - you will use realtime 3d characters or is everything pre-rendered? And what about the shadowing in real-time?

I'm not into scripting yet, but nevertheless i guess it's quite work to script in general, not to mention that you have to script for your specific needs. Time is an important resource, so i would suggest you try to do it on your own and then provide something for all other wme users.

General Discussion / What Bad Brain Entertainment thinks about Wintermute
« on: December 05, 2004, 09:55:03 PM »
I just read an interview at adventure gamers with Bad Brain Entertainment, a new company who secured the rights for "a vampyre story". This is what Wolfgang Kierdorf of Bad Brain thinks about Wintermute:

Quote from: Wolfgang Kierdorf
I recently had a look at the WinterMute engine and Unnamed Project Joe. Maybe we will use the WinterMute engine for future projects. It's a great tool and I guess everybody who has a little programming experience in C, C++ or Java is able to do technically flawless adventures.

Back in the times when I did game programming I would have killed for tools like this one.

 :)

What do you think about a chat session every now and then using a specified date? I think it would be very interesting to have more people you can talk to.  :)

I don't understand your question - do you want to animate a model inside 3dsmax without using it in wintermute, a general question about animation? Click here for a good tutorial without using character studio (bones and skin modifier). This tutorial exists in french, too (it'S the original one). If you want to use it in Wintermute, you need Milkshape i think.

Software and games / Re: Blender (modeling, animation, rendering)

I had problems with crossoads, too. My models were destroyed after importing, tried a lot some time ago, but wasn't able to achieve anything. Don't know if i made mistakes though.
