Reading and writing external files?
« on: November 14, 2008, 01:44:32 PM »

For my game that I am designing, I want to use a mobile phone with it. So for example you may come across a safe that needs cracking into in the game, at this point a mini puzzle/game is loaded on the players mobile phone of the safe, the complete the puzzle and the safe then opens in the game on the PC.

But before I get started with this, I need to know if it is possible to have Wintermute to read an external file? For example a simple text file.
So the phone can then write to a text file on the computer and wintermute can read strings of data from this text file.

Is this possible?

Yes, it's possible using the File script object.

Hmm ... I hope you're referring to a simulated mobile here?
