Title: gimp?
Post by: odnorf on April 12, 2003, 11:38:59 PM
Another link for your documentation that maybe be in handy for many people.

www.gimp.org

It's an opensource image editing program (coming from the linux world but there is also an older windows version available for download... a newer version maybe can be compiled under cygwin but I never tried it). It's not as powerfull as adobe photoshop, corel photopaint, & paintshop pro but it's good enought and it's free. So it's a great alternative for people who want to create an amateur adventure game but can't afford an expensive image editing program.

PS. it's 1.40 in the morning here.... don't ask me what I'm doing in this board this hour  :)

I was testing the Windows version of Gimp long time ago and I was... well, confused :) (but than again, I'm confused by Photoshop too ;)) But more importantly, the Gimp has been constantly crashing on my computer...

BTW Sorry guys I don't attend your late night sessions ;D

Well I finally slept about 3 hours later.... The funny point is that I'm sick (so I'm trying not to drink beers as I usually do). Now it's 10.45am here. I just woke up and what did I do first? Check this forum for new posts! I really think that most people should come her...
Anyway, what's the adventure game you were playing?

Mnemonic I know photoshop very well and I was confused the first time I tried Gimp (I still am :)). And yes, it's true that for many people Gimp for windows it's unstable and crashing every two seconds.... Well I think I was lucky! In my old computer it didn;t crash very often.

I guess you shouldn't actually... but anyway - we wrote that stupid stuff in the general discussion board, so we are safe. ;) And I was bored, everything I tried out with WME just worked...  :-[  ;)  ;D
