Title: new documentation
Post by: odnorf on April 26, 2003, 11:41:00 AM
Mnemonic, how is the new documentation going? I don't need it now because everything that I wanted to script for my demo is done but I'm just curious.

And how big it will be? I'm thinking about translating it into greeks (If I manage to find the time. I can't promise anything for the next 1,5 month.)

I'm working on the script commands reference now, it's nearly finished. Then I'm gonna fill those blank chapters in current docs.

I can't say for sure how big it's going to be eventually ;)

Updated docs would Rock!  I actually do read them (when necessary).

I just found another adventure game engine that looks good. It's called visionaire.

http://www.visionaire-online.de

I gave you this link because you have a list of other engines in your documentation and maybe you wanted to include that one too.

Yeah, I know Visionaire. Did you know it's been released on exactly the same day as WME? :)

I heard about this engine after I tried the first beta of wintermute which I found so good that I didn't look at it...

From what I've seen, Visionaire is probably very good for beginners and non-programmers, because it doesn't require any scripting at all. But of course, it comes with a price of a very low flexibility.

I am a beginner and a non-programmer but I find WME the most easy and powerfull engine I have seen (and I have tried AGS, Sludge, AGAST and MAD). So it's safe for me to say that WME is good for beginners (like me) AND experts (Jeroen maybe?). You have done a proffesional job (at least that's my opinion).

Thanks, I'm glad to hear this. I admit WME is aimed more at the advanced developers...
