Good day fellow creators

I just released a non-playable demo of my next project which will be done with Wintermute. It is windows format so you should be able to click on it when you download it. If you have trouble with your media player you can check it out at YouTube. Here is the link. Enjoy

General Discussion / Just Starting Out My Bad

Good day fellow creators and gamers

I joined back in 2005. I wanted to make a game but didn't have a clue on how to start out. I tried Wintermute but couldn't get the hang of the code. Well I'm back again and this time I'm going to give it a good go.

I just released my first game called Incident At Roanoke. I wish I could have released it with this engine, I would have had less nightmares to deal with. I had to leave out a very valuable puzzle because no one knew how to script it. Towards the end nothing would work right at all no matter what I did.

Well I want to start working on my next game game which is a 1st person game called Terror Within Hawk Manor. I want to use the Wintermute engine because it is the most stable engine out there. I feel that I've learned enough about code over the years that I should be able to get the hang of it. I sure hope so. A lot of people are looking forward to my next game and I'd like it to be a better quality than Roanoke was.

I hope everyone don't mind me being a pain in the lower extremities, I've been known to have that reputation.  Well I'm off, I look forward to working with everyone here. Take care

Hello Everyone,

It's been awhile since I've been on here, wow, what a change. It looks really nice. Seems everyone is busy these days making changes and upgrades. If anyone is interested there is a new site over at:

http://paranoiagames.uk.to

If you ask they will put a forum up for your engine. I'd love to do a game with Wintermute sometime, but I'm a bit intimidated by your script. I played the game Dead City, it was pretty good. I liked the graphics especially. Well I'm outta here, take care everyone.

Software and games / Blitz Backdrop???
« on: July 08, 2005, 05:34:44 PM »
Hi all,  I don't know if this is a stupid question or not, but is Blitz Backdrop worth buying. I had a look at the demo but it didn't offer much in the way of hands on like most demos. But before I start putting out money on something that I might not enjoy I was wondering if someone who is using it could give me some info. It's cheap enough but still if there is something even better out there that's worth the money, maybe I'd go with that. Any advice? Thanks :)

Technical forum / Stuck Already
« on: June 29, 2005, 06:45:31 PM »
Hi, goodday/night

I just finished the tutorial and I'm stuck already. I think I may have screwed up the script somehow. Once I managed to get Molly to go to the door, actually I think she went out the door because the screen went black. But now I can't get her to go to the door again. I deleted everything in the ready made script and I just have 3 lines.
on(Leftclick)
GoToObject(###, ###)
Game.GameScene("scene\menu\menu.??)
Can't remember the rest. Little help please. How do I get Molly to walk to the door

Hi all, I just started studying Wintermute and I'm finding it very enjoyable. I always put off learning it because
I felt intimidated by engines. I thought you had to be a wiz at C language to even attempt it at all but I just
started right from the beginning of of the tutoral and now I'm  up to scripting and only started it last night. I know some
of you may think big deal, but considering I haven't a clue when it comes to programming or engineering this is
a big achievement for me. I have to say to the people involved in creating Wintermute good stuff a job well done ::thumbup

Technical forum / Just new and need advice

Hi my name is StarLite and I would like to ask a question. I hope this is appropriate for this base.
I just finished writing an adventure game with puzzles. I would like to know how simple is Wintermute to use.
I have absolutely no experience whatsoever so I am a beginner at everything. I downloaded the 3d demo and
it looked great. I would like my game to have that style. I guess my question would be is Wintermute easy for
a newbie who doesn't have a clue  to use. Thank you for your time. :)
