Technical forum / 3D actors in Wme 2
« on: July 20, 2011, 06:19:25 PM »
Hi!,  ::wave

I'm creating the 3D actors for my game that I hope to finish in 2012 / 2013.

We could know how it will be the 3D format to export to Wintermute 2?

Do I remember wanted to use the 3D Ogre engine?

Very good Seriá to know the details of the engine and can go working on 3D content for version 2 of Wme.
I need to go creating 3D content to start programming in wintermute next year if it can be and to take advantage of the qualities of Wme2.

Thanks, Mnemonic for your time spent. ;)

Hi Mnemonic,

From my perspective as a creator of digital art'll give you some tips that I think would help improve Wintermute in future versions.

1 .- 3D Actors: Is it possible to soften the shift-change Direction of the characters?
When the player starts up is also too abrupt movement. How stops at the end of the journey is the same, slams on the brakes. If you could soften to have a small acceleration when you start walking and deceleration when stopping would be perfect.

2 .- Scene Scrolling : You can soften the beginning and end?
Like the actors, the scene scrolling would also need a small acceleration and deceleration at the beginning to the end.

If Wintermute is improved in these 2 areas, Wintermute games created with much improved visual quality.

Thank you for your attention. ::wave

Technical forum / I love "wintermute"
« on: July 12, 2011, 09:57:57 AM »
Hello everyone, I'm new here.

Some time ago I started to prepare a 2D adventure game.
I was testing the different engines (AGS, Visionaire Wintermute ...)

I had seen on the forums "Wintermute" was the most powerful. Then I started to do the tutorial demo scene, but due to my impatience and hurry to see results soon, I failed to appear or the background image on my scene.

I left disappointed and tried to "Visionaire Studio". Now everything seemed easy.
I began to study to know its possibilities. But according progressed I came to realize the immense limitations of the program.

Then I tried different games created with "Visionaire and wintermute."

But something caught my attention, a notable difference between the games created with these 2 engines: "Visionaire" games running sluggish and heavy. Instead of the "Wintermute" enjoyed a fluidity and ease typical of commercial games.

This is when I decided to give a "Winermute" and start the tutorial, the demo scene. He soon solved the problem he had before the graphic scene and moved swiftly throughout the tutorial.
After making a few more tests I realized the enormous power of Wintermute. I also found it easier and everything is better organized than in Visionaire. Now I'm happy with "Wintermute".

Thanks "Mnemonic" for this wonderful engine. ::thumbup

Now, after knowing "Wintermute" my game will be at 2.5 D.

Because it took more than 14 years as a modeler, 3D animator I think I can develop a good adventure game project with the help of Wintermute and this wonderful team of people on the forum.

 Thank you.

 (Excuse my poor English)
