Software and games / Adventure Creator for UNITY
« on: October 21, 2014, 08:10:10 AM »
Hey guys!
What's happening with WME2?
I'm a long time WME user and haven't heard anything for a while.

In the meantime while we wait for the next awesome engine there is a little toolkit for UNITY:

A lot of devs are already using for commercial stuff and thought I'd let you guys know :)

Cheers,

« on: October 26, 2012, 03:51:32 AM »
Hi guys!
I'm a professional game designer that has worked in the industry for over 5 years.
I have wrapped up work on some client projects and am now looking for something new to work on.

Check my LinkedIn for examples of my work.
I'm flexible with all types of design from systems and UX to narrative and monetization.

Price will vary but I am very passionate about what I do and love to help other developers so even if you are an indie, get in touch, we can work something out.

If you're interested then please get in touch: myles@capptive-arts.com.au

Kind Regards,

Scripts, plugins, utilities, goodies / Typewriter effect for text
« on: July 30, 2012, 12:28:42 PM »
Hi guys,
I've been using WME for years but only today, when I was testing some stuff out, I discovered that I didn't know if WME supported the typewriter effect for text.
Is this possible?

WME Lite / Video Support
« on: May 01, 2011, 02:33:58 AM »
Hello again :)
This question is probably best answered by Mnem but is it possible to integrate a cross-platform API for playing video to the WME Lite source?
I could do it but I just wanted to know if WME is set up for it before I attempt it.

WME Lite / Awesome stuff!
« on: April 30, 2011, 02:39:47 PM »
Great work Mnemonic, as always :)
I tested out a game on Mac and iOS and it worked flawlessly on both.
I'm going to test out the iOS some more to see what it's really capable of.
I'm using iPhone 4 btw so it's more powerful then the your iTouch.

General Discussion / c++ problem
« on: November 02, 2010, 11:28:48 AM »
Hi guys :)
I have a different kind of problem then we are used to seeing. It's a c++ problem. I am creating a dll implementing Huffman Compression.
The thing is that the compression is working but the decompression is not.
If anyone can help as to why that would be awesome.
I have linked a zip file which includes my visual studio express edition 2008 solution file.
The debugger options are also set up with the right arguments.
All you have to do is run the program from within visual studio and take a look inside of the project folder to see the result.

General Discussion / A* pathfinding
« on: September 13, 2010, 04:17:45 AM »
Hi guys :)
This question is for Mnemonic.

I am making my own adventure game engine and I want to implement pathfinding but I'm not sure how to go about it.
I understand how A* works but the algorithm uses a grid of nodes. How do I tell it to use the nodes only when the user clicks somewhere where an obstacle is in the way.

Hope that makes sense.

Technical forum / XNA and .Net
« on: January 13, 2010, 07:21:54 AM »
Just wanted to find out something.
I am new to hardcore programming and I was just wandering if I could use the WME source assembly (if it's made with .Net) and use it in a new c#/XNA project and then export it out as an XBOX executable?

Scripts, plugins, utilities, goodies / Entity fading class/object
« on: December 22, 2009, 04:22:25 AM »
Hi guys,
I have created a bunch of classes/objects for SOV and I thought I would share them here when I can.
The first one is the fading of entities which is a really handy class.

Enjoy!!!

PS: It also works despite the FPS.

Hi guys,
I'm still having this problem and it's screwing up the dev time.
Any help on it would be fantastic.

Pretty much when I import a 3D geo file into the scene editor it shows up but the position is wrong compared to my exported background png.
I haven't touched the camera so it should be the same. The thing is that it only happens with panning backgrounds (backgrounds that are bigger then the games res).
With normal backgrounds (ones that are the same as the games res) are imported they work fine.
Is there a way to fix this?

Technical forum / 1280x800?
« on: October 16, 2009, 01:16:18 AM »
What do you guys think of that res?
Would it prevent some players from playing?
I know that it looks good for both Widescreen and Standard.
