Rosemary translation - packing/unpacking files (.dcp archive)
« on: October 14, 2012, 11:27:54 AM »

I extracted all files from .dcp archive using quick bms script http://aluigi.altervista.org/papers/bms/wintermute.bms
and i did some modifications to this files, but i can't reimport them to archive even if they are smaller or equal than original. Do you know how can i reimport this files or create new .dcp file?

Here are the game

I hope you understand we can't help you with making an unofficial translation of a copyrighted (although freeware) game. Personally I have no issues with it but unfortunately those forums are not for this as it's considered illegal (stupidly imo but my opinion on the matter still doesn't matter). I'd try to contact the authors of the game and ask them to help them create an official translation. It should be very easy for them to compile the game again.

Legal / illegal aside, strictly technically you don't need to change the game packages. If you add the modified files to the game directory (in the correct directory structure), the game will find them and use them instead of the original packaged files.

Thank you very much! Your method works :)

Yes, that's what it's for. But the game developer has to do that (using the WME String Table Manager tool), you can't do that after the game's been compiled. Unfortunately Rosemary doesn't use the localization facilities of WME.
