Another great move by the Wintermute Army. I see that finally Chris Jones understood what was best for his life. I suppose the little laser red dot at his forehead also played on this.

Ok, on to the next step of the plan...

Is this true? :-\

Between you and me, it's just a cover for taking over AGS's market and user-base, but we're trying to keep it secret for now.

Thanks.

Jan, do you plan to make a lot of changes in the engine interface or script language?
If it stays like it is it would be great, becouse WME is simply the best!

Don't worry, the script language won't change a bit ;)

The problem, as I see it anyway, is that according to Mnemonic & Chris Jones the new AGS/WME adventure engine will have much less features in the first version. A lot of things have to be dropped so that the merge is possible. Ofcourse things will change in the future but that will take at least 9-12 months.   :'(

i guess they'll leave the current engines as they are AGS2.72 and WME1.61,
and build together a new one from scratch.
with the experience of these adventureengine-gods the result must be amazing :-)))

The engine supports only one resolution: your games must be created at 160x100, in state-of-the-art 4-colour CGA graphics.

Sounds like overkill to me - I mean what the heck kinda game is ever going to require that kind of computing power?

I'm not really sure of the benefits of this move at all.  ???

Hmmm...so shold we wait for new merged engine or continue developing with latest stable WME? I'm asking becouse we are working on a serious project and I don't want to have to rewrite whole thing from scratch...Than I better do this  ::beer instead  :)

Anyway...Happy 1.april!
