Obviously McCoy is trying to write a DLL file containing an external function that reads a file, but I'm not sure I understand what its purpose is. Is he writing something for a future version of WME? Or can DLLs be used within the WME scripting language somehow?

Yes, you can call DLL functions from a WME script. Check the (new) docs for detailed description (there is a "Calling DLL functions" chapter in the scripting section). McCoy is trying to enhance WME by writing a file access DLL library.

OMG I almost forgot about the DLL...  :-[ I wanted to try Mnemonic idea, for loading and unloading files correctly form memory, preventing memory leak. Well, I'll get back to the work... as soon as I come back from the f****** town of my mother.
