Title: Port WME to different platforms
Post by: jtrencsenyi on November 25, 2009, 04:36:58 PM
We would like to port the 2D part of WME and make commercial games to different platforms (MacOSX, Linux, iPhone and Wii). We are official iPhone and Wii developer and have the resources (team, money, etc.).
What do you think about it, Mnemonic?

I'm (obviously) not Mnemonic. But I can say one thing based on my knowledge. You have every right to do so but you'll also have the obligation to release the source changes under LGPL3.

I think it would be nice :)

Seriously though, since you're a business, I suppose you don't want to port it just for the fun of it. What are your exact goals/expectations?

We would like to develop and publish commercial adventure games easily on the following platforms: Windows, MacOSX, Linux, iPhone, Android, Blackberry, DS, PSP, WiiWare, PSN, XBLA an Flash. We would like to make an own development environment or port your WME engine to these platforms. Android, Blackberry and Flash is a little bit problematic because we can't use scripting easily and we need to use static linking on iPhone.
We would like to release our modified code when it is possible. We can share our console and handheld sources with the official developers only.
