Anyone know a free sound effect library that can be used in hobby and education projects?
I have done a bit of a search and found thousands of site .. most of witch are terrible and full of popups and crap.... so wondering if anyone has found a good one?

well... when you learn how to make soundeffects yourself, there's no turning back. It's just so much fun. Other than that it's really almost impossible to find a good sounding free sound library (that's why I learned how to do it myself in the first place) so I recommend trying your luck with some little recording device (minidisc is enough for start). ;)

hmmm... sounds like they way to go eventually i guess. Still i am sure there is some sound libs i could use for my learning project. The entire idea of it was to concentrate on the engine and not have to deal with creating content from scratch.
I'll look into it and get back to you.

I posted them in another thread a few weeks ago ...
try findsounds.com and flashkit.com.
There are some more in the other post, but I'm not at home and don't have my Computer in range -- and only remember these two.

I haven't really looked closely at the licenses on this site, but I've used http://freesound.iua.upf.edu/ (http://freesound.iua.upf.edu/) to find some nice sound effects for school projects and part of my game's UI stuff. If you make your own SFX, you could even add yours to their library.
