Plugin question
« on: August 12, 2005, 09:25:31 PM »

I just toyed around with the snow-plugin, and it runs really fine (even with 1500 flakes :-) ), but one strange thing happened:

I used it in the front-scene of the 3d demo, and the flakes appeared everywhere besides above the crates in the foreground wich are a free entity. Is there something we can do against this? I guess using StickToRegion or something like this wouldn't help here as the free entities are at the bottom-layer, or?

No, not really, StickToRegion() would help here. Simply create a dummy region, move it all the way down the node list in SceneEdit, and then call something like:

SnowObjectName.StickToRegion("dummy_region_name");

That way all the snowflakes should be displayed on top of everything else.

Ow, you are right ... but I'm sure yesterday it didn't work - must be magic ;-)

Anyway, it runs extremely smooth now, even with insane amounts of flakes and  a huge Theora-entity in the background - that's uber-cool what you did there  8)
