I'm a french videogames developer, and I very much enjoyed Dead City game ! its darkness, mood, ...
I think that the game could be ported on iPhone, and that's what I'm proposing to do !
sorrow, are you Nihilis the author of the first game ?
If not, anyone knows how I can reach Nihilis ?
If yes, could you contact me to discuss this idea ?

Hi Jonathan. The developer of the original Dead City is NaRCo. You should see his email address in his profile. I'm not sure he's still using the mail, though, because he left game development years ago.
I agree, though, that the game would work well on iPhone (except the original resolution is too big for the old iPhones/iPads) and the game logic is simple enough to re-implement from scratch.

Yes, that's what I was thinking. But it should be ok on iPhone and iPod touch too : there is no fine "pixel hunting", so it should be perfect in 480x320 too !

And I'm currently working on another adventure game adaptation (Mortville Manor) on iPhone, so I'm starting to have a little "adventure game engine"... That could be reused on other games...

I'm just curious, is there any way to open and uncompress the .dcp file of a game ?
Is this the wintermute engine game data format, is there any way to preview it or is this a compiled-closed format ?
(I would like to see how the Dead City game resourses are organized to see how easy it would be to port the game).

I was able to unpack the data file, and I think that the game is portable on iPhone. Resources are well organized ! standards file formats, ... great !
I will wait for NaRCo answer to my email. Did anyone have news from him recently ?

This game is awesome :D, please do release it for PC as well though as I don't think my Nokia 3310 will be up to the task lol
