Technical forum / Re: Can anyone show me some sample projects for WME

Thank you for this  as well Phil, I will also be checking out this code.

WME rocks, stick with it

@piagent, Phil is right. I've tried so many engines and WME is by far the best. It's the most stable engine out there. It very rarely has to be updated. The last engine I used for my last game was being updated 3 - 4 times in a week. There was a lot I had to leave out of my game because that other engine gave me so many problems. Believe me, I'm kicking myself I didn't stick with WME when I had the chance. Keep working at it, in the long run it will be more than worth it.  ::wave

Good day fellow creators

I just released a non-playable demo of my next project which will be done with Wintermute. It is windows format so you should be able to click on it when you download it. If you have trouble with your media player you can check it out at YouTube. Here is the link. Enjoy

I wish I could use you, but I'm just starting out myself. I just finished a game that was a total nightmare because the engine kept giving me all kinds of problems and headaches. Are your services free or do you charge and if so how much. It's nice that you are offering this, if you are still available by the time I'm finished with my graphics maybe I'll give you a shout.  :)

Great thank you odnorf, then I'll keep going with the tutorial. I need an engine that I can rely on and this looks like it. I appreciate the reply and the reassurance. Take care

Thank you for your prompt reply odnorf, another question, if I'm working with 1.9 version say and when version 2 is released, will i still be able to use 1.9 to finish the project I will be working on. Sorry for the confusion, but I like to err on the side of caution after what I've been through. Thank you again

Good day all,

I have a bit of a concern about new versions and upgrades. I've noticed with the last engine I was using (will remain anonymous), every time the engine was upgraded it caused problems for my unfinished game each time I upgraded. I had problems with objects disappearing, objects moving all over the place, characters walking where ever they felt like, characters walking when they weren't given instruction to etc. Sorry but after the last nightmare I've just been through I'm a bit weary of upgrades. I guess what I want to know is, if you are in the middle of making a game, is it better to wait till you are finished creating your game before upgrading to the next version of an engine. thank you

General Discussion / Re: Just Starting Out My Bad

Hi metamorphium

No please don't tell me my worst fear has just come to be. When you tried to exit, did you put the cursor on the exit sign. Or did  you try to just walk across screen. This is the first time this has happened. Please tell me it's just because you didn't put the cursor on the word exit. Can you try that and see what happens.

This game was just 3 weeks of one nightmare after another. At one point I lost the whole game, graphics, objects, items, characters, and even code gone. I tried to bring in a few of the backups, same thing. So I had to delete the engine, reinstall it and then import the file back in. Then it told me that my mouse icons were non existent. Which was strange because I wasn't using  mouse icons I was using a verb coin. Objects kept moving all over the place, disappearing, characters started walking where ever they felt like it. Let me tell you it's a good thing we don't own a gun, it would have been at my head years ago.

Other than that good news on the learning front. I started relearning WME last night and got as far as Step 7. A lot started coming back to me that I remembered from before like Weypoints. So I'm going to try to get back to it tonight.

Please let me know about the bug and if you can get out of the airport. I guess it is a good thing I kept everything. Sorry about that

Hi metamorphium, I read some of your online book, excellent work. I am planning on starting on Wintermute tonight. I'm anxious to get to the next game. There is a walkthrough on my site if you need it. Where exactly are you stuck. I hope you remembered to save. I hope the block is just as simple as you forgot to do something. Here's the site link

Hi d3d, now that I have a bit of time on my hands I just might get to finish your game. I was enjoying it very much till I got bitten by that spider. I'll get him though

I'm looking forward to pestering everyone in the near future. Let me know if you manage to get by that block. Roanoke was just one nightmare after another to try to fix. I'd no sooner get one problem solved and then there's 3 more to take it's place. Oh,  has any seen Orange Brat around. I missed OB around the scene. Well I'm off to make the rounds take care guys.
