Vim is IMHO the best text editor on the planet. It has systax hightlighting for EVERY language anyone can think of, and has hundends of features (which almost nobody on the planet uses
). I use it for everything on my computer.
check it out -
www.vim.orgIt's coming from the unix world and ofcourse it's opensource (yeah, almost all the programs I use on windows are opensource
).
Oh... and a few advices if you are not a unix-lover. Download the gvim package (vim with graphical user interface) and NOT the vim. Also use the "gvim easy" icon to start it or else I don't think that you will like it (unix users can be weird on they way they work).
Oh... and just for the fun of it... go to syntax menu -> show filetypes in menu, and check the various syntax highlighs it supports.
