WME Lite / Re: Major question about the WME Lite
« on: April 18, 2012, 03:39:54 PM »
To my understanding there are two kinds of memberships

Register as Apple Developer: free. No Xcode 4 for Snow Leopard.
Enroll the Mac Developer Program: $99/year. Xcode 4.2 for Snow Leopard.

Can you confirm if you enrolled?

WME Lite / Re: Compiling for iOS

Sources - the software - can be downloaded from http://code.google.com/p/wmelite/downloads/list

Like most software nowadays, WME uses libraries provided by the operating system and third parties that are responsible for low-level functionality that would be very tedious for the software writer to do them himself. Sometimes, these are called "dependencies". In the link above, you will also find all the dependencies you will need.

cheers.

No, you didn't. Xcode manual also applies to my previous post.

Actually there is. I'm using it.

You probably should research a little more. In the old days, we used to call it RTM. An "F" between "T" and "M" is optional, depending on who's asking. I don't know what is called nowadays.

Guess you can find what you need over here: http://res.dead-code.org/doku.php/wmelite:ios and here http://res.dead-code.org/doku.php/wmelite:building

bonus answer: you need xcode 4 to compile your game, so Snow Leopard will not do. You need Lion.

cheers

WME Lite / Re: WME Lite: XCode 3?

Probably.
But the App Store has the last version (4.3) and the Developer downloads for XCode 4 all say "... for Lion".

Thanks anyway.

No, if you running Snow Leopard or Leopard. XCode 4 requires Lion. I remember that in some circumstances it's possible, but I really don't recall right now.

We (the students and me) didn't upgrade yet. They have older machines and for myself I also have to upgrade MAMP and other stuff and i'm not very inclined to do that.

Will look it up and post here if I find out.

Thanks.

Hi,

Does the project file from WME Lite for iOS works with XCode 3?

Thanks.

Software and games / Re: Double Fine Kickstarter Adventure

The interesting question here is if Mnemonic has been contacted by Double Fine for a possible use of WME in this project...  :P

Mnemonic, on the FAQ, you state that

Quote
The actual game development still needs to be done on a Windows machine

Just to clarify this out but only the actual compiling have to be done on a Windows machine, right?

Because I'm a 100% Mac user I have to go with full Mac support. Games and Editor (with a bundle for Textmate).
It's a long shot but hey, you asked! :P

Hi,

I'm not trying to start a flame war here, but I'm becoming annoyed of having a lot of rss feeds posts that aren't in english, so completely useless for me.

I liked the idea of keeping several subforums specific for a language: why not do the same for rss feeds?

Just a thought.

cheers

Hi Pedro,

Yes there are portuguese WMEers - i'm one of them.

Beneath a Steel Sky has a version with portuguese subtitles.

If you want to include brazilian portuguese, about 10 years ago the portuguese distributor of Infogrames translated several to brazilian portuguese so you probably should check out with them.

I seem to recal that these were translated:

Sanitarium (not sure about this one)
Shadow of the Comet
Prisoner of Ice
Alone in the Dark 4

boa sorte!

I use the Blender sequencer.

Can be a little scary but this tutorial should put you on the right track:

http://eugenia.gnomefiles.org/2008/04/20/video-editing-with-blender/

Or you can check the docs:

http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Doc:Manual/Sequencer

good luck
