You know, the best thing to do might be putting the Russian version on my website as well. Free for everyone to download, just like the English and German version (and a Czech version soon, hopefully). With special thanks to the unknown contributors

I don't know the laws, but I guess, then you could get into trouble yourself, because the russian text / images and so on are copyrighted by someone else. I don't know if that count's because they already dirsturbed your own Copyright when changing the Game itself

But it was more of a joke. I can't judge the quality of the translation since I don't speak any Russian anymore (forgot it all, sadly), but I'm not taking any risks. The videos have remained all-English, and of course they didn't even bother with the manual. So overall, the quality of the localization is sub-standard, and I wouldn't want to be associated with it.

hi, wanted to write about the russian version of the game myself but got busy with preparations to my GC visit.  Yes, the translation was done by some warez group, supposingly neogames if i remember correctly. By the way, it is ukrainian group. And yes, it is sold via stores that sell pirate games (though can be downloaded for free through warez torrent sites for free - a thief stoled from thief thing). The quality of the translation is mediocre. The translation makes sence but there are grammar and spelling mistakes - can't say for  the whole game, i've played through only the beginning of this variant, though played the english version from beginning to end. A really nice game, congratulations. :-) I've included it in the list of free adventure games worth seeng in the last issue of our e-zine. If you have more questions I'll gladly try to answer them. DCP was added only on October 2, but what is done by one man can be done by another.

About russian translation... Yes it is made by neogame. You can find it on their site http://www.neogame.com.ua/view.php?id=dirtsppccd. And yes it's ukrainian pirate-publisher. Game cost like 10 bucks.
But curious thing i once read in one of their cds. They were selling some Max Payne 2 mod. When i saw it i was like "WHOA! WTF?". Then i got curious and read small text on the back of the cd. It was something like "By buying this cd you're not paying for information it's contain. You are paying for cd and cd box itself..." or something like this.
So i don't think you can actually sue them... 'coz they made it kinda legal. But i guess You can ask them not to sell it

Stolen things don't get legal just because you write something on them :-) They had no permission to distribute it, so under no circumstances they are allowed to, no matter what they write on the cd's.

If it is a real low price, you CAN actually sell Mods on CD's / Boxes.

You can't even give the cd for free if you don't have permission or if the license doesn't permit it.
