hello
my current problem is surely made by myself but i cant remember what i have done and how to undo it ..... ( i think this has something to do with my age ... )

if i start my game from projectman i cant swith to fullscreen mode anymore ? the option windowed is disabled and i cant change it so the game is always run in windowed mode ...
i checked all configurations in projectman and didnt find the problem.

in my mind i might remember something about changing a script line in a file in the game directory. ....

any ideas what i have done ...

The full-screen option is only disabled, if your video card/monitor reports it can't handle the resolution of your game. Typically newbies encounter this problem when they use some non-standard resolution when starting their game, but I don't suppose that's your case, is it?
Second common cause it badly installed video driver.

i did an update of the nvidia drivers a few weeks ago but this shouldnt be the problem i think. I didnt have the problem before.
And i donwloaded a demo of some other wintermute user and the fullscreen option works fine ...

i use a geforce gts 8800 on vista... but i encounter this problem only for a few weeks ...
the last six months working with this system i did not have the problem.

the whole line Colors and Run in Window is deactivated.
i tried all possible resolutions and even switched to 16 bit colors but still i cant choose ... even when i use 16 bit colors in the settings dialouge there is 32 bit and window mode but both deactivated ...

i will have a look at the nvidia page if there is an updated driver ... maybe this fixes the problem ... but why can i run another wme game in full game mode ?

reinstalling the latest nvidea drivers didnt change anything ....

Run DirectX Caps Viewer, check supported display modes, compare with your game's resolution.

yes you are right. my game resolution is not supported by my grafic card. but i have this problem only since a few weeks ...
and i did not change the grafic card or the monitor.
can it be the new nvidia driver that doesnt support the resolution any more ( and had before )

by the way sometimes forum entries are not marked correct. so you did make a new entry to this thread but the forum did not mark a new entry to me.
i just found it by sheer luck ( and i remember i had this sometimes before ). but now that i know for sure about it i will check more often in my actual threads .

It sounds like a new driver has removed support for the specific resolution you are using. I'm not familiar with nVidia drivers but the drivers from other companies have the feature to add custom resolutions. Maybe you should check the options of the gpu drivers to see if there is something similar.
