IsWalking()
« on: January 28, 2004, 09:17:30 PM »

Hiya,

the subject is the message.  ;)

A new method "IsWalking" analog to "IsTalking" would be very helpful to check if any "GoToAsync()" method is still active for some entity/actor.
(Yes, I discovered that after my dynamic shadow answer...)

Or did I miss something ?

Thanks, Jerrot.

Ok, it should be fairly easy to add. Although, I think you should update the shadow no matter if the actor is walking or not, in some parallel thread maybe? That way normal actor.GoTo method could be used.

Hm, I thought about this... I just disliked it, because I'm still used to compare all script languages with JavaScript - where this method could be a disaster for the CPU time on slower machines, although not necessary. ::)

I still think it could be useful for some events without having to set custom flags this way. Thanks for the feedback anyway. :)

I'm with Jerrot, but I don't understand it fully yet. There won't be a CPU disaster that way? I always thought that a loop with more than three cycles would be a catastrophe!  ;D

But seriously, can someone explain it a bit? Thanks in advance!
