Hi all,

if anybody is interrested in that information. The exams of this semester are over now and we are continuing speech recording. In germany we say: "gut ding will weile haben". Maybe anybody knows the similar proverb in english. It meens that good things need a lot of time to grow.
 
I hope it will be good at the end.

but we (the development team) have to dissociate from that.

I can't deny that this topic plays a major role in the game. But in a humoristic and funny way. We don't want to abent someone.

It's unavoidable that "consuming people" (we are not one of them) play the game and misinterpret the intension.

 It's just a funny litte Game with funny little stoned people on a funny litte  island. After creating the main actor we have to serve this cliche.

I don't  know how to skate on this thin ice. But I know that we see that thing from the right and not from the wrong side.

I would be nice if someone of you gives his opinion about that.

Well, I guess that no one starts smoking pot because of a computer game, as well as no one gets a blood rush of them :-)

If someone does, he would with or without the game - so no problem I think.

At least it will be a very peacefull and relaxed game I suppose

Well the main hero is obviously a marijuana smoker, which is more or less illegal in most countries But I don't really see a problem with that in a game. As nihil stated, it surely will be a "very peacefull and relaxed game".

Pictures and stuff are of course not illegal. Well, not yet. Who know what good ideas will come to politicians minds in the future ;-)

This thread reminds me of the movie "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back". Maybe you know the extremely funny movie "Clerks" that started themes for the not so good (imo) movies "Dogma" and the first I mentioned.
Anyway the main characters of this movie are two stoners and nobody ever complained about that. Whinning their final battle with their super bong power.
I don't think you would ever run into problems because of this soft-drug theme. Weed after all is an illegal but mainly tolerated drug.

I'm happy that you all don't have any problems with this topic in an adventure game.

I thought about that, because in an international community of adventure game fans it might be a problem in some societies.

This thread reminds me of the movie "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back".

As a tribute to this film we decided to dub the best friend of the main actor "Bob". It was the Idea of a fellow student of mine, who is a fan of the film(s). He created this caracter as a hint giving guy.

Bob sends you a bottle post to every location (around the world) from the main Island (Manamana Island). Even icebound in the polar-ice of the antarctis or in the grand canyons (so he sended it before the water dissapeard). In every bottle post you can find a hint to the actual quest.

But it's a long way to go to put the first hint bottle post in the game.
