Major question about the WME Lite
« on: April 15, 2012, 02:23:17 AM »

I just HAD to register here to ask this one question...
- Is there actually a working version of WME Lite?  :D
I have searched the web, and all I've found is just some useless junk and dead links.

I've been writing a script for a pretty big point&click -adventure game, and since I know very little about coding, I thought that the WME would be perfect for me. If this Lite project has really died, I'd like to ask that...
- Is there some other game engine that's as easy to use and as extensively featured as WME?
Doesn't actually matter if it's not free. Oh yeah, and I have MacBP with Snow Leopard.

Actually there is. I'm using it.

You probably should research a little more. In the old days, we used to call it RTM. An "F" between "T" and "M" is optional, depending on who's asking. I don't know what is called nowadays.

Guess you can find what you need over here: http://res.dead-code.org/doku.php/wmelite:ios and here http://res.dead-code.org/doku.php/wmelite:building

bonus answer: you need xcode 4 to compile your game, so Snow Leopard will not do. You need Lion.

cheers

Thanks joaomesq!

I think I have read pretty much every F:n manual there is, but haven't noticed anywhere that it won't run on Snow Leopard.
So my quest for the most suitable game engine has to go on  ::wave

I'm new around, so hi there!...

I just want to comment that xcode 4.2 is available for Snow Leopard (I installed it just yesterday) but the download is inside the apple developer site (the app store only have the last version available), so if you are a registered developer you can download it... that's good for ios apps up to ios 5.0 max. But if you want to develop for ios >= 5.1 then you'll need Lion as xcode 4.3 is lion only...

To my understanding there are two kinds of memberships

Register as Apple Developer: free. No Xcode 4 for Snow Leopard.
Enroll the Mac Developer Program: $99/year. Xcode 4.2 for Snow Leopard.

Can you confirm if you enrolled?
