A co takhle import z Blendru, to by neslo?

Blender exportuje hned do několika formátů,co Milkshape přečte.

Vue Pro can export even separate object in many formats if I am not mistaken and most of them Blender can import. But it is nearly twice  as of cost  as Vue ´d Esprit version.

But If you need only plants from Vue, you can simply render them and use them as textures maped on planes in Blender. Ideally would be to render them with alpha channel and cheat normal mapping texture, I don´t know how to achieve this in Vue renderer though...

I'm not sure if I already got the real ending already?

They invoked the demon and dissapeared after, now I'm not sure if there is anything more to do? I didn't manage to fix the bridge yet, is that already possible in the demo?

Yes, it is :)

Nico: I really enjoed playing this demo and have fun all the time. I want more! ;D Hope to see next part in next 3 weeks ;)

Genre purists are incarnation of EVIL, they are slowly  killing this  genre and what it can become in future.  But on the other side I still  love point and click 2D look which need not to be hi-end technologicaly and still  provide that unique gameplay-not better or worse then other types, but for me irreplacable....Let´s have both on market and tolerate each direction. Too naive am I?  Well, maybe... :) Uhm, another ::beer please  ;D

General Discussion / Re: What do you think about this scene?

Hi Martin, hope this isn´t too late to join some comments, althought month after first post :)

Firstly- it looks pretty good, I like the atmosphere achieved with fine color composition and lighting. These are what I would improved:
-those lawn borders are too regular- either make them irregular or add kerbs to prevent grass grow in the sidewalk

-some wooden textures are mapped wrong- It is best seen on wooden stairs-there is neat trick in Blender to correct this- you can rotate object in straight horizontal or vertical position, then press Ctrl+A - Apply size and rotiton. Texture mapping justifies to this position. Then rotate this object back to diagonal position. There is also Texture space rotate tool but I recently can´t remember where it is, never used it before...
And of cource there is always UV mapping, which is the most precise texturing approach and pretty fast in Blender now :)

-dirt up those textures, there are all just too clean and artifical

-shadows are to crisp for outdoor lighting- adjust soft shadows on  Key-light

Other then this, good work, looks really nice  :)

::hijack (sorry)

;D Which reminds me that you still don't post your work at those forums. Why only at the elYsium forums? We are humans as well  ;) (at least some of us are)  ;D

Well I haven´t post any work at Elysiun either for looong time now, but it is true that I didn´t post any of it here. I believe that every forum has it´s reason to post in- I post some of my (or in some cases rather ours) works at Elysiun to get serious and constructive critic from my fellow blenderheads so I can improve my (our) gameart little.
This part of WME forum, on the other hand, is for annoucements and I don´t want to announce this game yet as it is very early in development and furthermore I really don´t  know when I will get some spare freetime again to continue on it and finish it.

So it is definitely not the case that I don´t like WME community here or something, I just don´t want to speak about this game anywhere yet, only about it´s art and Elysiun is better and more apropriate place to do this:)

Hmm, actually I know of one more (yet unnanounced) WME game, which starts in a cell. I can see a pattern here :)

Well, and that cell looks pretty similar too! :o  :D

Ok, do you know any 3ds to obj converter? I have one, but after the file gets converted blender gives errors and doesn't want to import the obj.  >:(

Maybe there is problem elsewhere then in that script or Crossroads - which version of Blender do you use? Do you use integrated sript of OBJ import/export or some external? Do you have Python instaled and paths set corectly ?  I ask becaouse I use this obj i/e quite often and works just fine even with files converted with Crossroads (althought from time to time I have troubles too) :)

blender has everything, including a full animation support rivaling even ligtwave in that respect

there is a plugin called makehuman, which gives you a completed model that you can modify every single bodypart of (including breast size and various aspects of the genitals :o), the problem is that there is no support for clothes afaik

Blender should have cloth simulator (resp. soft bodies) in latest release but due to it´s betatesting and bugs killing it  didn´t make it in time so it will be in 2.36 on 99%.  I have seen some animations from betatesting of this feature and it looked quite impressive :)

Btw- besides it´s modelling capabilities, which were greatly improved with recently 2.35 version and character rigging animation tools you may also like Blender´s unwrap tools for draw your UV maps textures  like LSCM unwrap which speed up process really significantly ;)

As for MakeHuman- it is something like Poser supplement with some nice and not so common animation features planned for the further development, but like in Poser, those meshes are rather hi-res and If I am not mistaken, animation isn´t done via armatures (bones) directly so ...:-\

There isn´t problem to export mesh itself from Blender actually, what I am curious is how these Milkshape exporters will deal with armatures animation and furthemore whether and how it will be capable of converting animation via IK solvers into straight FW bones movement as I presume that WME doesn´t handle IK yet (and maybe there is no reason for engine to handle them at all).
As far I know, only the Direct X format exporter in Blender can do this (haven´t tested it yet though), if can, than it should be relatively straight way from Blender to WME as Milkshape can import Direct X animation, If I am not mistaken.

What I try  to say in short is-maybe those Milkshape exporter isn´t the only way how to get your animated characters from Blender to WME  as there are still in very early stage of development... :)

Případně si ty postavy v Blenderu můžeš vymodelovat a naanimovat sám ;)

*lol*

That's true ... especially in the Blender communitiy where even a "Undo"-Feature is too prolly for the people :-)
Well, it took only few yers to finally have that undo, so it is only matter of patience ;D
