Geometry creation from photo?
« on: February 27, 2008, 09:19:06 PM »

Hello eveyone, i'm new in WME. Just few days.
So, here is my first question(s).
Instead of modelling, rendering scene i have real-photos.
Thus i don't know how to create 3D-geometry for real photos.
My skills in 3D editors not high.
I need ideas and\or advices.
And my 2st question, how to correctly create "walking on stairs up/down" effect? It's based on geometry?

Thanks for any help! :)

If you use real photos, and want a 3D toon, but can not really model the photo easly, then you can get pretty decent results simply using a single large square as a ground plane and a camera that matches the perspective of your photo.

This will mean that you toon can walk around in the scene on the ground plane in perspective. Then use the 2D region fields (just like the tutorial for 2D toons in the manual. To set your areas you can walk in.

The problems with this is that your shadow wil be cast directly to the ground plane and not take into account the structure of your scene photo...
