I have all these 32 bit BMPs from POSER 5 just waiting to go!

Can i have an unlimted number of actors in my scene/project?

Maybe, for my version of the Old Guy I can make an actor that only has a walk animation in one direction? Does it have to be a fully-assmbled actor like MOLLY? I'm guessing not.

Please remember I am a non-programmer by nature but i have a little experience with ASP and Javascript.

It's so cool that I can call the TALK method of the ACTOR object and the engine just knows how to make him say that stuff.

What about a NON player Character (NPC right?)
My NPC is a sprite, do i just create a TALK sprite for whatever direction he might be facing (lets say he only looks right or left) and then just call the TALK method for the entity called MyNPC?

Do I have to create an actor for every NPC that talks in the game?

I don't want to take up a bunch of your time writing a tutorial on this, but give me enough to get going on. I'm really just wondering how the engine is -aware- of an entity that can TALK or if its all manually scripted.

PS - is there any way to fade in a MUSIC file and then have it loop indefinately for that scene? I know how to do everything but the FADE IN.

Do you have an idea, in your personal timeline, when you might start to look at an Alpha Channel in the sprites?

This would be the most awesome thing ever.

Thats Cool!

All my stuff is done in 3D Render style! But I'm sure it would still be fun to drop in your actors.

I'm sure other people would benefit as well.

If anybody has any actors they wouldn't mind letting me use, just for development, it would be great.

Creating my actor will be one of the final steps in this development, so i really need somebody other than Molly (as fine as she is) to stand in for my Ego through the dev cycle.

It would be great if people in the WME could share their actors with eachother and it would really  help shorten the cycle for many, i'm sure.

You are awesome. I can't wait to post some early screenshots.  Can you tell me something else?

How would I change some dynamic, like:

The first time I hover my mouse over a poster it says "Poster"  then i LookAt the poster and character says "
This is an original Star Wars movie house poster" then every time after that when i hover my mouse over the poster I want it to say "Star Wars Poster" instead of "Poster"

also what is the best way to handle speech? Do i just add a line under every talk statement that does an Actor.PlaySound(WhateverSentence.ogg) ?

Hi;

I just downloaded the WM IDE last night and I must say I am impressed.

Here's some questions:

1: When I import my BMP in and make them sprites for a foreground entity, they are still square and the black pixels around the object are visible. How do I:
A - Make some area of the sprite transparent?
B - Make sure that only the visible area of the sprite is transparent?

2: How would i incorporate an "idle" animation for the main character? So they might check their pockets or look up at the sky randomly when waiting for you to do something?

3: How robust is the sound engine? How many channels at once?
How do I trigger a song to play when a room is entered?
