but you don't need a plugin to play midi. You can use a piece of script like this to leverage the high-level Windows multimedia API:

external "winmm.dll" mciSendStringA(string, string, int, int);
mciSendStringA("play C:\WINDOWS\Media\flourish.mid", "", 0, 0);
