Mnemonic, I asked to vote for WME in Wine at the Adventure Developer's forum and got this answer:
There is a SDK for Wine that the developer of Wintermute could download and make it work better. This is mostly an attitude on the part of software developers who really don't care if their app is cross platform or not. Thumbs up to the AGS developer who has done work to make it run on Linux, although not the development part, and Sludge, which works very well. At least the Sludge games, don't know about the development part.

What do you think about it?  ;)

When a game is compiled by beta 3 it's OK, when by beta 4 - doesn't work.
I think the problem is in this feature:
The startup settings window has been redesigned to accommodate new options. Note: The standard string table now contains new localizable strings. Please update the string table of your game.
Mnemonic, when I wrote about problem with DirectX 8.0 you told me about *.dll which is helped me. Maybe you use new library which I haven't?
Can I don't use settings.exe?

If Trinity is moved by keyboard (arrows), when she is walking to camera (her face is looking at user)- then there is a strange effect.

I tried to run any game created by WinterMute Engine 1.6beta2 and got an error that cedega requires DirectX 8.0. In version 1.5.2 it's OK. It's so pity. It's really that Cedega don't support DirectX 8.0?

Early I run WME (version 1.5.2) in Cedega and it worked normal. And WME games too. I don't know what was happened, but 3D games was not worked anymore. Now I try to run it again, I use CVScedega (because I want it legal but I can't buy it in Russia. As I far as I know credit card cost 50$) and it writes:
err:x11drv:X11DRV_GLX_MakeCurrent failed to set OpenGL context
err:x11drv:X11DRV_GLX_ContextCreate error creating 3D context
and WME writes:
Error initializing accelerated renderer. Sticking back to software...
The same WME writes in Wine 0.9.10 but WME works well and 2D-games. wme_demo_3d_2 doesn't work and wme_demo_3d works with errors (screenshot -
What does WME's message mean? Maybe the problem in my devices? I have Radeon 9600 Pro videocard and nVidia nForce2 matherboard. Can WME write this message under Windows?

I need for artist which can make backgrounds. I use WinterMute Engine for creating my adventure game. It is non-commercial. About the game:

Main actor: Alexander Bogolyubov, the student of an archaeologic institute.

At the institute where Alex is being taught came the famous professor of
archaeology Yanush Karich, who read about the African tribe, Sangvala. The
Sangvala people in his opinion, lived back-to-back with the dinosaurs and
even tamed them. Alex had a very large interest in this topic. Where
exploration takes place, businessman-zoologist Arno Hashnell decided to
create a park-reserve for tourists. Hashnell's family live in England.
Professor and Alex went there to convince Arno to allow them do the

I work in ASPLinux 9.0 (based on RedHat 9.0) and I cannot make new or open existing project. I get the message:
This application is requesting an ActiveX browser object but the Mozilla ActiveX Control is currently not installed. Do you wish to download and install it?
When I choose "Yes" the downloading process does not begin. I downloaded and installed the Mozilla ActiveX Control 1.7.1 for Windows but it did not help. What can I do else? IE is not freeware program, isn't it?
And how compile the wme_demo? The comand line is "wme_comp.exe -project project.wpr -script script.dcs [-output output_path]" but there are not any *.dcs file in wme_demo. In FAQ written that a WME game must have only *.exe file if I want to play in linux. But when I try to run wme.exe in Cedega I get the message
Some of the essential game files cannot be loaded. Please reinstall the game and try again.
And in shell is written
err:module:import_dll Library msdbi.dll (which is needed by L"C:\\Program Files\\WME DevKit\\IMAGEHLP.dll") not found
Please, help me to run this engine and its games in linux.
