Title: Displacement plugin
Post by: metamorphium on October 10, 2005, 01:58:47 PM
Hi muties.

Here's some displacement plugin you can use with WME. Inside the zip file you will find a tutorial, how to use this effect.

Enjoy!

Thanks very much. This just prooves how great Destinies will be.  ;) ::beer

I've seen what this plugin can do but don't you think it might be a good idea to also release a small demo in a seperate package so that anyone can check it without having to read the (very easy I must say) instructions? You know how impatience people can be ;) I can host it for you if you like (considering I'll upload the sources as well).

Oh, and do you think it might be possible to add the instructions in a simple text file in the zip package. You are not using any special formatting so... what's the need to require an office package to be installed?

I have to agree with odnorf this time, some demo would be nice. This plugin can create some pretty cool effects and I'm afraid uninitiated people will not know what to expect from it.

If you provide me with some graphics not covered with license, I will gladly make a demo for you. I added txt file to zip so the minority not having any kind of office package (OO, MS Office) can read it too.  ;D

sorry for trying to repopulate such an old thread, but...

does someone have an uncompiled version of that dll?
i read about it quite a lot now and want to see it, but it seems its erased from the web,
i already got that dll file out of beyond, will learn how to use it with beyonds scripts but the real file would be great tho.

i would really really appreciate to have that.
thanks in advance

you mean my ancient C++ sources? I would have to look for them, but it's nothing special. Just some sin / cos distortion as far as I can remember.

i know that its not that complex to write that dll, but i have never done this (just started scripting half a year ago)
so i wanted to see how i can cope around with c++ sources :)
i will just search the google for some sources and play with them :)

Dan-D:
its a plugin which is capable of moving grass and water by script. havent tried it myself yet but sounds kuhl :)

thanks for action :)

Hi guys,

I'm sorry to inform you, that sources together with dll were lost during the disk crash and they weren't for some reason included into backup scheme. So for now I don't even have the dll
file (some of you do though). If there ever will be interest in my WME book (which I somehow doubt), I'll write it again as a part of plugin-writing chapter.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

i would definitely buy your book!!!
but i think i am one of those monkeys who like to read on paper whilst most other monkeys nowadays prefer to read on monitors :)

thanks for engagement anyhow, i will just get some other dll files and look at them to learn how to use them properly :)

cheers,
manarius
