Free 2D actors and backgrounds

Hi, I'm about to start with Wintermute and, first of all, I want to know where to find a free actor and a free background (I could use a picture on this thing), in high resolution, so I can start using the engine.  Is there some free actor? How about a graphic depot or something like that? It's not for commercial use, just for learning!

Well how about the tutorial game? There's two backgrounds and Molly actor. It's good enough for start thought :)
