Character studio - all animations in one file
« on: November 21, 2007, 01:26:11 PM »

Hi!

Could anybody please explain to me in detail how to solve this problem in Character Studio Max. I´ve got two (or more) BIP files that I want to pack in one file so that I can export it with Panda and enter the different animation names.
For example walk animation, idle animation, talk animation.

I think it works with motion flow, but I don´t understand how.

Thanks
Oli

EDIT: solved. Can be removed

Do you mind explaining how to merge several bip files into one long sequence? I'm interested as well.

Sure, I´m glad to share what I´ve found out.

1. Click on any part of the biped and go to the motion panel.
2. In the biped rollout click on "Motion flow mode"
3. Then on the button "Show graph"
4. In the new window click on "Create Multiple Clips"
5. Select our BIP file
6. Repeat 4 & 5 to select the second BIP file
7. In the motion flow rollout (not the new window) select "Define script"
8. In the new window click on the names of the BIP-Files (a red arrow shows the connection between them)
9. Close the new window.
10. That´s it  :) . In the motion flow rollout you can see the starting key of your animations (for example 0 idle, 10 walk, 200 talk)
11. Export as usually.

Hope that was understandable,
Oli
