Title: "Loading..." text on game start up
Post by: piere on June 28, 2011, 07:26:07 AM
Right when I launch the game, the "Loading" text appears in the middle while the scene starts up. Is there a way to change the text to a sprite ?

Thanks

No, this text is displayed before the engine is fully initialized, which means the graphics subsystem doesn't even exist yet.

Would be nice for WME 2 to have the possibility of a splash screen or something like that.

Guys I think it isn't impossible because if you try to play the game Pizza Morgana you'll show that on the loading there is a image !
I let you the link where to download the demo so you can :

I think to make that you need the source code !!

Once the engine is initialized (i.e. when game.script is executed) you can do whatever you want. That includes loading a "loading" scene or window and display any graphics. That's what Pizza Morgana does, and that's what the recent Alpha Polaris does. But the original question was about the black "Loading..." screen. That one cannot be changed (you can however change or hide the text using a string table).
