Title: question for GR translation
Post by: odnorf on May 04, 2003, 09:12:17 PM
What this "master index" is? And what does it do?

Have you finished the manual concerning the "response window"? I would like to have it's full description because I don't know how to tranlate it.

What this line do "str0116   Initializing filters...".
What are the filters? Are the ones that we found in
the project's settings window?

Where those 2 lines used?
str1023   Script up
str1024   Script down

There are 2 more problems :

1 is old, and 2 are new... For the second (new) one I need 11 letters... Maybe it would be better if you place those three above the boxes with the files.

Remeber the problem with datafiles on CD? The master index is also a part of the projected file system. It's only usefult for multi-CD games, because it contains references to individual files and what CD they reside on. This way the engine can request a particular CD when needed.

It's simply the area on screen where the dialogue responses (player's answers) are displayed.

Yes, the filters are those "exclude", "script compiler" and "do not compress". Those actions may be applied to individual files when the packages are being created. The "Initializing filters..." message is only displayed for a few milliseconds :)

Where those 2 lines used?
str1023

I am really close...

A few more questions...
Where can I find in ProjectMan those strings (the last ones)?
"str0101   Line"
"str0258   Switch to the next window pane"
"str0259   Switch back to the previous window pane"
"str0264   Split the active window into panes"
"str0286   Activate Task List"
"str1049   Parsing file"
"str1053   Parsing merge file"
"str1054   Error opening merge file"
"str1064   Warning"
"str1074   String tables"
"str1075   Font files"
"str1076   Sprite files"
"str1077   Definition files"
"str1078   Items files"

Oh... and the icons in the toolbar use the english translation (new, copy, paste etc) and not the greek one...

"str0101  Line"
It's a line in script, where there is a syntax error.

Quote
"str0258  Switch to the next window pane"
"str0259  Switch back to the previous window pane"
"str0264  Split the active window into panes"
"str0286  Activate Task List"
These are the hint for the "Window" menu items. They are probably unused (generated by wizard again...)

Quote
"str1049  Parsing file"
"str1053  Parsing merge file"
"str1054  Error opening merge file"
"str1064  Warning"
Those lines are used by the template parser (when you are adding a new entity/scene etc.). Those strings are only visible when there's some error in a template file.

Quote
"str1074  String tables"
"str1075  Font files"
"str1076  Sprite files"
"str1077  Definition files"
"str1078  Items files"
And these are used in the file open dialogs, in the "Filter" field.

Yep, it's a known bug :( It's not exactly easy to override those tooltips...

They are unused... I just asked to be sure :)

OK... I have to generate some errors to see them.

EDIT: I try to generate some errors inside an actor directory but I didn't see any errors. What kind of errors should I create?

Well, there are lots of possible error situations, but I didn't put all those errors into the string table. I think you don't need to worry about those...
