Yeah Germans love invading communities. You can never be safe from them.

Well as everyone posted stuffs about themselves here I go then:

I am average 25 years old, finished studying information technology last year, used to live in Mainz/Germany and worked in Web Services (CMS, DBs, Lotus Notes, WebSphere), fell in love with a Brazilian hot babe (HOORAY!) and moved to Brazil.
Currently have a lot free time on my hands until all my documents are finally legalized to start working.

Uff deciding on 3 games is hard.
Well my favourites are The Longest Journey, Gabriel Knight, Monkey Island 1&2, Baldur's Gate 2, Freelancer.

Hey gfx johnny,

welcome to the WME...errr Clan, Brotherhood? (That better Jerrot?),

Really nice ideas and great enthusiasm. Don't know how it should and could be implemented in WME, though.
It would mean adding a 3D Mask to all Scenes and Objects. Don't know how much work that would be and if the current glow and lighting solution by animating backgrounds and using different sprites wouldn't achieve similar good effects as you are never changing the view angle of a scene.
But anyway a nice feature that would be cool to have.

Cheers

Did you take a look at McCoy's SunnyDemo. The way I understand your post, you would like to start the game with a menu like that.

Here is the link to the thread:
http://forum.dead-code.org/index.php?topic=274.0

You can download the source code there and see how the menu was made.

hehehe this thread is a real jewel!!! It's putting me in the mood to drink something now, but unfortunately there is only one can of beer and a drop of Absynth here.
And yes the same situation here as Ordnorf's original post. I am alone, my girl is working and will come back in 5 hours....

Actually long time I did not get myself pissed anymore... It was around New Year when the uncle of my girlfriend invited me to try out his different types of Cacha

Software and games / Re: Dreamfall

I LOVED TLJ so I am more than curious about Dreamfall.
Hmmm yeah April looks kinda different. Maybe being trapped in that strange tower/chamber for 10 years you just lose your tan and need a lot of paint to look colourful.

Anyway TLJ was already a great game and I am confident that they are not that stupid to do a MI4 interface.

Actually the whole page and game design (that is visible) extremely reminds me of Final Fantasy.

I never thought about trying recent games like UT 2003 in Win98 compatability mode. But it is worth a try.
Sorry but it always happens at different places and I have the suspicion that it can be related to slight overheating.
I also tried other things like turning off Sound Acceleration. It actually helped, but not much.

I use a laptop, too and have a ATI RADEON mobility 7500 graphics card.
I don't know if XP doesn't like mobile 3D cards, because even with the latest drivers 3D acceleration is buggy.
On my system the programs run extremely fast at first and at certain points slow extremely down. Found no solution for this.
But using Windows 98 no problems at all. Everything works fine. Too bad that I usually don't like 98. So I currently have both OS installed.

Don't know what it is but I heard from many laptop users that there are problems with their 3D hardware.

@Jerrot: Congrats!!! Will take some time until I reach that level ;-)

Technical forum / Re: Playing an Enviroment animation
« on: May 08, 2004, 04:48:18 AM »
I think the problem is because you try to use the PlayAnim Method with the Game Object.
You can use the PlayAnim Method as far as I know only with Actor, Entity and Item objects.

So instead of using
Code: [Select]
Game.PlayAnim("escenas\001 - Room\001\01\cajon\cajon.sprite");
do instead
Code: [Select]
YourDrawerEntity.PlayAnim("escenas\001 - Room\001\01\cajon\cajon.sprite");

Well maybe just add it as a nice image to the window. Make it false as soon as the window closes and true when it opens.
Don't know how to solve this one.

Hooray for WME  ;D

(also a reason why I decided to use WME instead of AGS!)
